SEER Ratings
The efficiency of air conditioning units governed by United States law and regulated by the U.S. Department of Energy. The SEER (seasonal energy efficiency ratio) is used as the measure of unit efficiency. The SEER is the total cooling output (in Btu's) provided by the unit in a year divided by its total energy consumption over that period. The greater the SEER rating of a unit, the more efficient it is.
